A Health Savings Account (HSA) and a Montana Medical Account are designed for people who are covered with a high-deductible health plan (HDHP). These checking accounts are established exclusively for the purpose of paying or reimbursing qualified medical expenses for you, your spouse and your dependents.

Unlike a flex plan, the money in your HSA and Montana Medical account rolls over from one year to the next. Before opening either account, please check with your tax advisor on eligibility requirements.

HSA and Montana Medical Account Details

  • $25 minimum opening deposit and daily minimum balance requirement (Below minimum = $2 maintenance fee)
  • $25 annual fee on HSA Account 
  • No annual fee on Montana Medical Account
  • Account holders can access funds with checks and/or a debit card

  •  Funds may be used to cover qualified vision, dental and medical care expenses
  • You may earn interest on your contributions
  • Unused balances carry over from one year to the next
